✔️LGBTQIA+ Book Club (Black Dog Books)

June 11 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

FREE

Black Dog Books and Records is having its very first LGBTQIA+ Book Club – ‘A Natural History of Transition’ by Callum Angus as chosen by @oopcdaisie who will also run it! Copies of the book available at Black Dog Books.

“A Natural History of Transition, blends the hard truths with fiction to explore how we perceive trans narratives. Each short story builds towards the next, using elements of horror, nature and queer history. Callum Angus not only shines a light on how harmful, and restrictive, the white-colonial views of gender are; He emphasizes how natural it is to undergo many changes and transform throughout life, without bounds.”

*POSSIBLE TRIGGER WARNING* Body horror, esp in the first story where a trans man gives birth to a cocoon

***GRTF is proud to highlight this locally organized event. (Not officially sponsored by GRTF.)

Do you have an event/group you’d like to get on our Calendar?

Please email your request (including event webpage, details, etc.) to info@grtransfoundation.org.

Eligibility: We realize that there are many groups & events in this city that are Trans-friendly while not being explicitly Trans-centered. To keep this calendar a bit more focused, we will only post events that are Trans-centered or LGBTQIA-centered. Events should take place in West Michigan.
