"GENDER JUNK" CLOSET

New & Gently Used Gender-Affirming Items

Our “Gender Junk” Closet provides FREE and on-demand gender-affirming items (new and gently used) for the local Trans & Nonbinary community. We have both a stable closet for the community to utilize at any time, as well as the option to secure free, brand-new items that we order through our business partners!

Items are available in inclusive sizing and skin tone. 

 

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must:

  1. Be a Trans or Nonbinary person. 
    (Parents or guardians of a Trans or Nonbinary minor, or someone assisting a Trans or Nonbinary person, may fill out this application on their behalf.)
  2. Live in KENT COUNTY, MI.

Applicant info will be kept confidential.

How it Works:

Step 1: Available Items

Peruse the lists below for the items we have in-office and items we can order for you. When you come into the office to place your order, we have a robust catalog that you select items from. With brand-new items that we order for you, we limit these to 2 items per month. 
 

Step 2: Place Your Order
 
If you’re a first-time clients, please fill out our simple intake form linked below. Then attend one of our “Walk-In Wednesdays,” held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of every month, between 1-5pm. (If these drop-in days do not work for you, please contact us at <Info@GRTransFoundation.org> to inquire about alternative dates/times.) You will have an opportunity to peruse our catalog, and we will discuss your needs, sizing, and timeline for receiving items. For sizing, we have measuring tapes, as well as some sample products that can be tried on. All ordered items are provided to you for free.
 

Step 3: Wait
 
We will place a bulk order once per month, so wait times will range from 1-5 weeks, typically. When your items arrive, a staff member will notify you for pickup.
 
 
Step 4: Picking up your items!
 
Swing by our office during business hours to pick up your items, packed in discreet packaging! We are not able to send or deliver items at this time. You may designate a trusted person to pick up on your behalf.

Want to donate your new or gently-used items?

If you would like to donate your new or gently used items (including binders, bras, ties, swimwear, or wigs), we’d be happy to redistribute those items via our stable closet! However, we cannot accept used makeup, haircare products, underwear, or packers.  Swing by our office during business hours to drop off donations, or reach out at the email below to coordinate a time. ♡
